Project :  Balder FPU

Client :  Esso Norge AS

Location :  Greenock, Scotland

Provided technical support to vessel Owners, in connection with general repairs, modifications and structural rectification work carried out whilst the vessel was in drydock and subsequently afloat. Work carried out by A Adamson & Co personnel included:-

  • Conducting as-built surveys of vessel structure to identify deficiencies, preparation of repair specifications based on findings and supervision of remedial work.

  • Supervision of structural rectification of topside stools and other load- bearing structures including turret, drag chain tower and crane foundations.

  • Overseeing various structural work elements, including fatigue mitigation and hull reinforcement, liasing with DNV Classification and Engineering contractors on issues raised in the course of construction.

  • Co-ordinating repair of GRE ballast system, comprising pipework renewal, pipe support upgrading and eventual hydrostatic test.

  • Supervising upgrading and improvement of materials handling and lifting arrangements throughout vessel, and co-ordination of load testing and certification.

  • Repair, mechanical completion and commissioning of marine piping systems, fire doors and accommodation space closures.

  • Overseeing miscellaneous repair work in connection with safety and operational issues, and verifying compliance with requirements of various regulatory authorities (DNV, NMD, NPD).

Project :  FPU Zafiro Producer

Client :  Mobil Equatorial Guinea Inc

Location :  Offshore Equatorial Guinea

Performed structural surveys of vessel hull whilst afloat, and produced detailed reports with recommendations. Based on survey findings, developed and produced repair specification, and supervised steelwork repairs.

Subsequently provided technical services to Life Extension Project Team, specifically in relation to expediting completion of Special Survey and related repair activities. This included planning and completing survey of tanks or specific areas to achieve class acceptance of same, thus progressing close-out with minimal delay. Surveys were arranged to suit programmed repair activities, and comprised close-up inspection from available stagings or by rope access means. Special Survey was completed on-schedule, in November 2001.

Project :  Chad FSU

Client :  Modec International

Location :  Singapore

Part of site team during conversion of ULCC to floating production unit, whilst vessel was afloat and subsequently in drydock. Our involvement included specifying and overseeing repair and upgrading of tanker piping systems, offloading arrangements and repair/modification of miscellaneous structural elements.
